Our History: From telecoms to broad application

Telkey's journey began in the demanding telecommunications industry. The need to provide technicians with access to remote base stations and equipment sheds—often located far outside network coverage and without a fixed power supply—was the starting point for our innovation. It was here that we realized that the biggest weakness in modern locking systems was their dependence on a constant connection.

We developed a solution that allowed the cloud to communicate with the lock via unique algorithmic logic, without them physically needing to talk to each other on site. This patented technology, mTAC®, quickly proved to be of enormous value far beyond the telecom sector. From base stations in the forest, we took the step to hotels, ski resorts, and property management, where simplicity and reliability are equally business-critical.
